Lakewood Playhouse was founded in 1938. "We currently have a 180-seat theatre in the Seattle/Tacoma metropolitan area, at the Lakewood Towne Center. Tacoma Little Theatre is a long time community theater. "We are a small community performing arts center dating to 1918 with 6 plays per year & educational programs." Tacoma Arts Live is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with the mission, "energize community through live performance." Tacoma Arts Live, formerly Broadway Center for the Performing Arts, manages the largest complex of theaters between Seattle and Portland: Pantages Theater (seating 1273, built in 1918, and restored in 2018); the Rialto Theater (seating 739, also built in 1918, and restored 1991); and Theatre on the Square (seating 302, built in 1993).
